Near-record Heat Sizzles Western New York this Week
It’s time to turn on the air conditioner.
The heat is here to stay in Western New York. How hot will it get? We’re talking near-record heat through Friday.
In fact, we could break a record high set in stone for over a century Friday. In case you’re wondering, the record high is 87° set in 1919.
High pressure will continue to keep Western New York hot, sunny, and dry through the end of the work week. A weak cold front sweeps into the area late Friday and Saturday. This will knock the thermometer down a few degrees but remain warm.
There is a slight chance for a couple of showers Saturday. However, it’s not worth canceling any outdoor plans.
Starting Sunday, the heat simmers down next week as temperatures will hover around 80°.
